Administrator / Technician
Location: Swindon
Contract type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Administrator / Technician to join our small, friendly team. This is a varied role combining administrative responsibilities with hands-on workshop duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of office-based and practical work.
Working within a small, supportive team, you will play a key role in supporting our sales, customer service and manufacturing functions while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing office-based administrative support to the sales, customer service and manufacturing teams
- Dealing with customer enquiries by telephone and email in a professional and friendly manner
- Supporting customers with product and service enquiries and identifying opportunities to upsell products and services
- Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Maintaining records and documentation to a high standard
- Managing stock control and stock traceability processes
- Preparing and processing invoices
- Picking parts and materials for a busy production line
- Assisting with workshop and stores activities as required
- Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail across all aspects of the role
This is a genuinely varied position, with approximately 50% of your time spent on administration duties and 50% on physically active stores and workshop responsibilities.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous experience in an administration support role, ideally within a sales, customer service or manufacturing environment
- A well-organised and methodical approach to work
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong telephone and customer service skill
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and use initiative
- The ability to multitask and prioritise workloads effectively
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- A positive approach to working as part of a small team
- The physical ability to work on your feet and carry out picking duties within the workshop
- A willingness and desire to learn, develop new skills and progress within the business
- A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality work
