Role: Primary Class Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £19,201 - £26,455 (Actual Salary for 7 months)
Contract Type: 7 months Maternity Cover (potential for extension after this period)
Accountable to: Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher, Phase Leader

Purpose of the Role:
To undertake the teaching of a primary class, ensuring high standards of learning, pastoral care, and classroom management. The role includes curriculum delivery, pupil assessment, and active participation in school life.
Teaching & Learning Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons with clear learning objectives.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and age-appropriate vocabulary.
- Adapt teaching based on formative and summative assessment data.
- Identify and support pupils with SEND or high ability through quality-first teaching.
- Deploy support staff effectively within the classroom.
- Promote independent learning through effective use of resources and displays.
- Evaluate and reflect on teaching practice to improve effectiveness.
- Keep up to date with educational developments and share best practices with colleagues.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils.
- Support the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
- Encourage pupils to take responsibility for their learning and behaviour.
- Foster respect, self-worth, and a sense of belonging in every child.
Professional Conduct & Collaboration:
- Establish positive working relationships with colleagues, governors, and parents.
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings and school development initiatives.
- Lead and monitor a curriculum subject, reporting to SLT and governors.
- Set a professional example in conduct, dress, and communication.
- Supervise and support the work of Teaching Assistants as appropriate.
